Operation "White". Six Partisans, dressed in civilian clothes without any military markings, pose with their rifles thrown to the ground, as a sign of defeat. They were captured by members of the SS Division "Prinz Eugen" near Bosanski Petrovac, at the end of the first phase of the German operation. The photo was taken at the divisional headquarters in Petrovac by one of the staff photographers (Beinhauer), who described the prisoners briefly: "The captured bandits who were brought in." The same six were, however, also photographed immediately after their capture by one of the propaganda reporters attached to the division (Keintzel), who presented them in his text in a completely different light – as poor deserters and victims of Partisan politics (quote): "In the fight against Bolshevik gangs. They have had it with the Moscow International. While the Soviet commissars live a lavish life in the villages at the expense of the population, they are expected to be fighting day and night without adequate food and clothing in the woods. The Bosnians have defected to German units in large numbers already, whenever they had the chance."

Operacija "Belo".
